Aghanaglack

Double-court Tomb

This double court tomb is situated in Ballintempo Forest, County Fermanagh. It has twin galleries set slightly askew to each other. The galleries are divided into two chambers separated by jambs and a low sill stone, best illustrated in the image shown left. The monument has an east-west alignment and both galleries share a huge back stone.

The southern half is all that remains of the eastern court, but the western court, pictured above, is semi-circular with a large orthostat at the end of the southern arc. This court tomb is as easily accessible as Annaghmare, Rathlackan, Clontygora and Ballymacdermot which are also road- or track-side tombs
